Terriorists on bikes indiscriminately fired on Amarnath Yatris, Seven Killed and Fifteen Injured
New Delhi,11th July : The tragic incident of terror attack on a bus carrying Amarnath Yatra pilgrims in Anantnag of Jammu and Kashmir, in which 7 pilgrims killed including 5 women and 15 injured on Monday late evening. Terrorists on bikes were indiscriminately opened fire on the bus carrying the Pilgrims in Bantigoo area of Anantnag district. The incident occurred at around 8.20 pm. Some forces personnel also injured. Security beefed up in the state after the incident and a high alert has been issued. The attack was condemned by leaders across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack and said, he is pained to hear the dastardly attack on peaceful Amarnath Yatris , which deserves strongest condemnation from everyone. India will never get bogged down by such cowardly attacks and the evil designs of hate. Home Ministry Rajnath Singh has called an emergency meeting after the attack on Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims and briefed Prime Minister Modi on the situation. Traffic on Jammu- Srinagar highway has been suspended. Internet services also suspended in Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports, the CRPF troops also attacked by the terrorists when they reached at the spot to rescue the pilgrims. The bus carrying pilgrims from Gujarat was reportedly not a registered vehicle and part of the main convoy. Therefore, no security was provided to the bus. The main convoy was escorted by troops. Congress President Sonia Gandhi also condemned the attack on the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
