Latest Communication Satellite GSAT -17 Launched from French Guiana
New Delhi, 30th June : India successfully launched its communication satellite GSAT -17 from Kourou in French Guiana Thursday morning. It was launched by a heavy duty rocket of Arianespace from Kourou, the satellite holds a configuration of around 1-3k extended bus with a lift-off mas of about 3,477 kg. This will be the third satellite launched by ISRO this month, the other two being first developmental flights of GSLV MK111 and PSLV c -38 missions – both from Sriharikota spaceport. the satellite provides various communication services with payloads in normal C -band and S -band. It also carries equipment to aid search and rescue operations primarily over the indian sub-continent being provided by early INSAT satellites.
