India’s much-vaunted batting line-up fell apart in the face of a Vernon Philander-led pace attack that bowled with relentless aggression as South Africa beat the tourists by 72 runs on Day 4 of the first cricket Test in Newlands, Cape Town on Monday.
While South Africa grabbed a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, the visitors squandered a golden opportunity to script a memorable win outside the sub-continent.
