Primary School Headmaster Suspended For Sexually Harassing Students
Keonjhar, 8th Sept: The Headmaster of Govindpur Primary School in Keonjhar district was found sexually harassing and abusing minor boys and girls in the hostel for months. The incident came to light after some girls of the school wrote a letter to one ward member of the village named Judhistir Naik and also to some other villagers narrating their ordeal. The girls said their school Headmaster Surendra Kumar Rana and cook-cum-attendant Radhakanta Naik had sexually abused them several times and threatened them with life if they will disclose the matter to anyone.
As per reports, the accused teacher along with the cook of the school used to enter the bathrooms of the girl students, use slang language in front of students and even move and dance naked in front of the girls. Moreover, the headmaster also used to enter the rooms of the students at night and show them obscene magazines, touch their private parts and make them drink alcohol forcibly.
After getting the allegation, the villagers approached the School Management Committee last month. Later, a case was registered at Joda Police Station under sections 354 (A)/506/34 of IPC along with section 10 of POCSO Act against the duo. Subsequently, the Joda welfare extension officer carried out a ground zero investigation and found enough evidence corroborating the charges against the two, following which they were forwarded to court. “Such act is heinous in nature. We demand exemplary punishment against the accused,” said a social activist Biraja Mishra.
