Sri Lankan cricketers wear face masks as pollution hits test
New Delhi:Sri Lanka’s cricketers wore face masks and the bowlers complained of shortness of breath as play was stopped three times during the middle session because of concerns over air pollution on day two of the third test match against India.
Play was stopped for 20 minutes for the first time halfway through the session.
Umpires Nigel Llong and Joel Wilson consulted both team physiotherapists and the players before agreeing to resume, with the Indian batsmen eager to continue the innings.
