Colleges to have road safety clubs
The state colleges will now have road safety clubs to enable the students to imbibe the importance of practising safety while on the roads earlier in their lives.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Higher Education Department said that all principals have been directed to appoint a road safety nodal officer in the college. Apart from this, road safety institute head or convener, senior faculty member, regional eminent person and senior students would also be appointed as members of the clubs, he added.
He said that a road safety ambassador would also be appointed in every class.
