Justin Langer appointed as Australian coach
Justin Langer has been announced as the head coach of the Australian cricket team, taking over from Darren Lehmann who resigned after the ball-tampering scandal.
Former Test opener Langer was endorsed as Lehmann’s replacement by the Cricket Australia board on Wednesday night, and will take charge of all three formats after an impressive six-year stint as Western Australia coach.
“Justin was the clear standout, particularly based on his recent coaching and player development achievements,” Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland said.
