Rastrapati Bhawan Identified as Mosquito breeding spot !
New Delhi: The New Delhi Muncipal Council (NDMC) has slapped several notices in the Rastrapati Bhawan after mosquito breeding was observed at many pools of the stagnant water in the sprawling complex, report published in Hindustan Times. As per the report, NDMC has so far issued over 1100 notices and 13 challans to various buildings of the VVIP Lutyens Zone, which were found to be breeding spots for mosquitos by its surveillance team. Every year, the NDMC forms a surveillance team whose inspections lead to notices being issued by NDMC. If the situation does not improve by the time of second inspection, challans are issued, a senior official of NDMC said. Last year NDMC issued 80 notices to the Presidents Estate after heavy mosquito breeding was found in various places in its sprawling campus. Total 125 notices issued in the year 2015. According to last Muncipal reports, at least 70 cases of Dengu and 135 of Chikungunia have been reported in Delhi till June 10th.
